I personally recommend the Kempinski hotel, it’s the best I’ve stayed in while visiting Dominica. It’s a beautiful 5 star hotel, resorts and spa. I was completely taken away when I first arrived by how luxurious and gorgeous it looked. I was received by a young man at the entrance who took my luggage and escorted me to the reception where I booked a room and was taken to my room.

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful during my stay and I enjoyed exploring the hotel quite a bit; the bar, restaurant and swimming pools were all fantastic and so posh, I was really impressed by the full service the provide. I cannot express how wonderful I found my experience there so I suggest you come down for a visit and treat yourself.

“It’s nice to see young men
taking part in farming and
growing their own fruits
and vegetables”

It’s hard work and you have to know what your doing, when it comes to farming.

Young farmer

I spoke to a young man who told me that he became a farmer because there was no other work for him. So he took up farming which as it turns out he loves.

I asked him questions about the sorts of plants he grows on his farm and he explains that he grows all types of crops from sweet potato, sweet peppers, cabbage, tanya, parsley, cucumber and a wide range of fruits.

I asked him how long does it takes to grow and he said 3 to 6 months depending.

When all his vegetables are ready he takes them to the market and sells them.

It was so nice speaking to the young man I was so happy for him and he always had a smile on his face

Pastor Andy of Peculiar Peoples Ministries https://www.yahmagazine.net/pastor-andy-of-peculiar-peoples-ministries/ https://www.yahmagazine.net/pastor-andy-of-peculiar-peoples-ministries/#respond Wed, 29 May 2019 00:42:26 +0000 https://www.yahmagazine.net/?p=2912 […]]]>

Pastor Andy explains to me how he became a pastor

This is his story

Pastor Andy was called to the ministry as  a young person very early  from the age 7 years old he knew he was going to be a preacher for the Lord. When he told his mother he had decided to become a preacher, his mother encouraged him to go to complete college before following his passion

However as a student he found it very difficult to stay on the righteous path, youth, peer pressure and the demands of academic achievement led him astray.

It was when he was about to graduate he came back to Jesus and started preaching  at 19 years He joined a fellowship and began training on pastorship. After he came a pastor he returned back to academics seeking university.

He shared his time between these two institutions studying and preaching part time at his local church. When he was graduated he became a pastor a church full time for a while but in less then one year the lord called him to go into business.

For many years he worked at brokerage firm. He was interested in the finance industry and later became a successful mortgage consultant with employees after starting his own mid-sized business from the ground-up.

In 2009, God spoke to him saying “Build me a house.”

And with those words he relinquished his business and went back to preaching. He had to start small. For many years he ran bible studies and prayer meetings from his house until he was able to finally set up a church which he then named “Church of Peculiar Ministries”

Pastor Andy is also into healing ministry. God called him to heal the sick and make disciples in all nations in the world. Pastor Andy believes in sharing the word of God without borders and frquently invites guest pastors, ministers and preachers from America to sermonize at his church.

It was very nice listening to pastor Andy.

Chinese Whispers https://www.yahmagazine.net/chinese-whispers/ https://www.yahmagazine.net/chinese-whispers/#respond Sun, 12 May 2019 00:37:40 +0000 https://www.yahmagazine.net/?p=2876 […]]]>

Chinese Whispers

A game in which a message is distorted by being passed around in a whisper.

Dominican people like to talk about other people not all of them some of them, you cannot do anything without them saying anything about you or someone else, they will examine you from head to foot like an X-ray to see what you are wearing and who you are speaking to and what you are cooking and who is coming round for food, and what you wearing for church and so on.

I heard someone saying look at this lady Mary look what she is wearing Papa the trouser is too tight on her mama where she is going with that, but the two woman watching her what colour is her trousers and so on, but she will not talk about herself, with her short skirt and her tummy role over her skirt and she think she look nice, come on woman think about what you are wearing and leave the poor woman alone.

Dominican people never mind their own business they have nothing better to say then talk about other people, one will pass by to visit a another friend saying hello Mary how are you, you okay and Sue will reply saying I am okay Mary, now the news starts

Mary will say to sue please don’t say nothing but I saw your husband jack speaking to another woman I don’t know he was saying to her but he had his arm around her shoulder and both of them was laughing.

Come on woman you don’t know what they conversation about.

People take things the wrong way and make it into a big thing.

The poor man will come home and Sue will start saying “someone told me you were speaking to a woman and you had your arm around her shoulder and you both were laughing.”

Jack asks “who told you that?”.

Sue replies “John’s wife”

Jack explains,” I was speaking to she was telling she won the lottery and I was happy for her and I put my arm around her shoulder, and she told me to bring my wife and we all can go for a meal and I will pay, so that was when I laughed”

Now you see what I mean that what you called Chinese whisper, People take things the wrong way all because one person who twisted the whole thing around and make it to a big thing.

No matter what you all say about other people your turn will come and someone will talk about you, so be good to people because it can be you.
